Manufacturing Quality Manager
Location: Onsite, Fairfield, NJ
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: President, L-E-M Plastics & Supply, Inc.
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured meet the required quality standards before they reach the customer. This role involves overseeing the quality assurance processes, developing and implementing quality control systems, and working closely with the production team to enhance quality in manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Quality Manager prepares and leads yearly AS9100 certification and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Assurance:
Maintain AS9100 standards, ISO9000, and AS standards to meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Monitor production processes and perform routine first piece and final inspections to identify any quality issues.
Creating and reporting FAIR AS9102 documentation as per customer requests
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address product defects and non-conformance.
Process Improvement:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Collaborate with the production teams to optimize production processes and reduce variability.
Monitor performance according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to desired performance levels
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Maintain and update quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and inspection records.
Prepare and participate in quality audits by internal and external auditors.
Team Leadership:
Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales.
Manage and mentor the production team, providing training and development opportunities.
Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among all employees.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement best practices.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives.
Maintain detailed records of quality issues, inspection results, and corrective actions.
Customer Interaction:
Address customer complaints and concerns related to product quality.
Work with the sales and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement in product quality.
Ability to engage in conversation with customers to discuss dimensional issues, corrective action reports and updates to quality systems
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment.
Certifications: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other relevant quality certifications are highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong understanding of quality control methodologies and tools.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of Keyence Metrology System, Job Boss, CAD, and SolidWorks a plus
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Work Environment:
This role primarily operates in a manufacturing plant environment. Some travel may be required to visit suppliers or customers.

Work Environment

The usual noise level in the work environment is moderate to high

CNC Programmer Machinist
Job
Initiate and monitor CNC programs for productions runs
Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rate
Translate instructions into computer commands so machines can perform the correct functions
Modify existing programs for different machines
Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines
Ensure manufacturing adherence to all quality regulations
Process work orders independently or with minimal instructions
Make manual program adjustments as necessary
Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process
Perform daily maintenance on machines
Maintains machines, tools and overall shop in a clean and safe working manner
Possess a strong sense of ownership, work ethic, and written and verbal communication skills
Enjoys working with a small, collaborative team
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED or related experience/training
Completion of a technical or associate degree program, a plus
CNC certification or CNC trade school, a major plus
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or related field, a plus
Quality assurance experience, a plus
Experience programming
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be authorized to work in the US
Job Conditions & Physical Activities Required
Movement within the office and around an active manufacturing/warehousing facility and production environment
Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and pushing, pulling or standing and walking for extended periods of time
While performing duties of the job, employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the production floor
